Non-power steering C2 & C3 Corvettes had a steering linkage rod connecting the steering box pitman arm to the tie rod ends - this linkage rod with its ball stud, seats and springs can become worn and in desperate need of rebuild - the result is sloppy steering and uneven tire wear patterns.
