With their first custom bends Kooks gained the reputation of building the highest quality and best performing headers available. Fast-forward 40-plus years and you'll find that same excellence in their designs for the C6 Corvette.

For series torque and bottom end power from your C6 Corvette, long tubes are it! Kooks headers are manufactured from 1 3/4" mandrel bent 304 stainless with 3/8" laser cut flanges and 3" merged collectors. A.I.R. tubes and O2 sensor bungs are included as original. They are specifically designed for 2005-2007 LS2 or 2008-2013 LS3 equipped Corvettes.

Long tube stainless headers include:

  • A.I.R. tubes and O2 sensor bungs as original
  • Necessary mounting hardware for installation
  • Carbon /steel composition header gaskets
  • O2 sensor wiring extensions(set of 4)
  • Installation instructions

Long tube headers require replacing OE mid-section. For additional performance, consider upgrading your C6 Corvette with a Kooks crossover pipe, center section and hi-flow converters. A 20-30 horsepower gain is not out of the question.

Note: 1 3/4" primaries are designed for stock or modified Corvettes with air intake systems. 1 7/8" primaries are designed for Corvettes with aftermarket camshaft and heads.

Stainless vs. Ceramic Coated Headers

While there are applications that make sense for a ceramic coated header; Zip feels strongly that all Corvette enthusiasts should consider the properties of stainless steel before purchasing a ceramic coated header for their Corvette. First, stainless steel headers will not rust. That?s a no brainer! Second, stainless steel headers dissipate heat better than coated headers. Coated headers look nice and are ideal when engine temps are not held at high temperatures for long periods; such as in drag racing applications. However, during normal street or track operation engine temps cause headers with coatings to RETAIN extreme temperatures longer than stainless headers. This retained heat, especially in times of no air flow, can cause damage in other areas, such as overheated engine components including plastic connectors and wiring harnesses. Zip?s recommendation to stick with traditional stainless steel headers when thinking about performance upgrades.
