Give your 2009-2013 C6 Z06 Corvette muscle car-style acceleration with a new 3.42 performance differential! Direct replacement for 2009-2013 LS7 Corvettes. Manufactured by Getrag, the OEM builder of Corvette rear ends - complete NEW assemblies undergo same testing as factory units. Differentials require a 500 mile break-in period under normal driving conditions. No core required. Must use GM-spec fluids.
The C6 Z06 Corvette differential has a larger ring and pinion than the stock LS2/LS3 equipped C6 Corvette. However, your LS2 & LS3 Corvettes can be upgraded to this heavy duty differential with a transmission upgrade, call for specific information regarding conversions.
Can also be used in 2006-2013 automatic equipped Corvettes requiring a 3.42 gear, tuning is required for automatic Corvettes to modify shift points.
Zip Corvette recommends a specific break-in procedure when installing a new or rebuilt Getrag differential into your C5 or C6 Corvette. Failure to follow the break in procedures will allow excessive heat to build up causing a less than desirable pattern on the face of the gear resulting in noise and eventually a possible gear failure. Break-in procedures are found under our product download tab.
Our technicians have determined that the installation difficulty level of this item is a 5 on a scale of 1-5. Read more about our install ratings here.
Almost no effort. Either snap on or plug and play. Probably no tools involved.
Simple installation with common tools. Probably less than 20 minutes for installation. Easy enough for
anyone who can read and follow instructions. A good first project for someone with no experience. Hard
to mess up.
A little mechanical experience is helpful but not necessary. Possibly a good first project for those with
a little more confidence. Will probably take more time (20-60 minutes) than #2.
Mechanical experience a definite plus. Not a good first project for the inexperienced. Most likely a 2-3
hour job minimum.
Only for the experienced wrench. Most likely requires good tool collection, possibly special tools and
a fair amount of experience. 95% of people will choose to have this installed by Zip or a professional.
