Simple tool designed to aid the adjustment of the shifter linkage on 1964-1981 Corvettes equipped with a 4-speed transmission.
How to use the shifter linkage adjustment tool?
Make sure the transmission is in neutral before performing this procedure. Starting with the outer most shifter plate, and working your way inward, use the threads on the end of each linkage rod to adjust the position of each corresponding shifter plate. When the linkage rods are correctly adjusted, you'll be able to pass the tool through the continuous slot that has formed at the bottom of the plates. See illustrations above. Once completed, each arm will be adjusted to the correct length and your shifter should function properly.
