Save money on ignition shields by purchasing as a complete kit. Plus the entire top of your engine will look just as it did when it rolled off the assembly line. 1969 350 Corvette ignition shield kits include all the outer shields, including the distributor surround and top, verticals and outer plug shields, plus the mount brackets, 4-wire grommets and wing bolts to hold the ignition shields to the block. Designed specifically for 1969 350 Corvettes.Note: Does not include inner plug heat shields, spark plug wire clips or lower spark plug wire "V" shields that mount under the engine block.
Corvette ignition shielding was designed by GM to reduce electrical interference for increases radio reception and performance. However, the ignition shields were often removed during routine engine tune-ups to gain access to ignition components including spark plugs and wires. After having their hands cut or fighting the many brackets and wing nuts that hold them in place, many mechanics eliminated the shields after the tune-up was complete. Factory ignition shields were either stainless or flash-chrome plated steel; neither of which was designed for show purposes.

Almost no effort. Either snap on or plug and play. Probably no tools involved.
Simple installation with common tools. Probably less than 20 minutes for installation. Easy enough for
anyone who can read and follow instructions. A good first project for someone with no experience. Hard
to mess up.
A little mechanical experience is helpful but not necessary. Possibly a good first project for those with
a little more confidence. Will probably take more time (20-60 minutes) than #2.
Mechanical experience a definite plus. Not a good first project for the inexperienced. Most likely a 2-3
hour job minimum.
Only for the experienced wrench. Most likely requires good tool collection, possibly special tools and
a fair amount of experience. 95% of people will choose to have this installed by Zip or a professional.
