Steering gear boxes are not the first item you think about when changing fluids or lubricants. The result is years worth of inadequate lubrication causing rough spots or tightness throughout the turning ratio. Which is only enhanced over time due to Corvettes that sit around without being exercised properly. Heck, we've even seen water come out of steering boxes when opening them up. So what's a Corvette owner to do? Zip has a number of potential choices; rebuild your Corvette's original steering box or go the easy route and replace with a complete rebuilt or new unit.
Remanufactured 1963-1969 Early Corvette steering boxes are completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected. Assembly includes all new bearings, races, seals and proper adjustment for rolling torque. Additional costs may occur if steering box worm gear or pitman shaft gear is damaged.
Rebuilt service is performed on your original steering box. The steering box must be shipped to Zip Corvette prior to the service being performed.
