September 11, 2001 is a day that will forever be frozen in time. It was a beautiful sunny morning on the East Coast, but darkness quickly overtook the otherwise picture-perfect day. We all remember where we were when the news broke of multiple attacks on our country. We all remember being glued to the television for the rest of the day. We all remember thinking that things would never be the same again.
But with all the horror that was on full display that day, what we choose to remember the most is the way our great nation came together. We watched as brave first responders ran towards the danger. We watched as ordinary citizens helped each other in extraordinary ways. We watched people all over the country line up to donate blood for the wounded. We watched our country stand united in the face of unspeakable evil.
Today, we remember the lost and we continue to mourn for their families whose lives were forever changed. Today, we are grateful for our brave first responders who still run towards danger. Today, we cherish our freedom that has survived despite the best efforts of evil.
May God continue to bless our United States of America.
