The 2011 Corvette returned with a fury of squealing new rubber. The Z06 and some Grand Sport’s were outfitted with all new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar Gen 2 tires. In Car and Driver tests, the 2011 Grand Sport Convertible, equipped with Magnetic Ride Control and the Goodyear tires, achieved 1.06G on the skidpad (Car and Driver, September 2010). The Z06 and ZR1 cars both achieved 1.07G at the skidpad.

The 2011 Corvettes were largely unchanged from 2010, but the Z06 boasted several new exclusive options, and a special edition. RPO CFZ was the Carbon Fiber package, which replaced several traditional components on the Z06 with carbon fiber. The front splitter, rockers, and roof panel were all black carbon fiber, while the rear splitter was borrowed from the ZR1 and painted the body color. The Z07 Performance package included Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes, and ZR1 tires and wheels.

In 1960, three Corvettes were entered in the Le Mans racing series, and ever since, the Corvette has been a strong presence on the world racing circuit. To celebrate 50 years of Le Mans racing, Chevy unveiled the 2011 Z06 Carbon Limited Edition. It included all the features of RPO Z07, a carbon fiber hood, and was limited to just two colors, Inferno Orange and Supersonic Blue. Total production for the Z06 Carbon Edition was just 252 cars.
