80 Headlight Wiring Harness (w/o Stereo Tape Player)

Reproduction 1980 Corvette headlight and forward lamp wiring harness. Correct fitment for Corvettes without stereo tape player. Attaches to main dash wiring harness at the firewall and connects to many of the components in the lighting circuit going forward. Connects to the following components:

• Alarm System Horn
• Alternator
• Brake Pressure Warning Switch
• Carburetor Electric Choke
• Carburetor Idle Stop Solenoid
• Dash Harness Connection (at firewall)
• Engine Hood Light Connection
• Front Cornering Light (driver & passenger side)
• Ground (alternator)
• Ground (to body mount bracket)
• Headlights (driver & passenger side)
• Horn
• Horn Ground (bolt on header support)
• Temperature Sending Unit

Note: 1980-1982 Corvette forward lamp harness vary depending on whether the alternator power harness was included in the forward lamp or not. This harness includes the alternator power harness and does not require the use of the alternator to battery charge circuit harness part # E-880.

Factory wiring harnesses originally supplied with your Corvette had a 10 year service life. How old is your Corvette's wiring? 20, 30, maybe 40+ years. Original harnesses were made with copper strand housed in plastic. Over time the plastic deteriorates, becoming brittle and cracked, allowing moisture to get into the wire, which in turn causes the copper to begin corroding. Corroded wires lead to short circuits with the possibility of an electrical fire. Why gamble on the condition of an old harness to save a few bucks?
