The 2007 Corvette outsold every Corvette since 1984, when Chevy set its all-time sales record of 51,547 coupes, by selling 40,561 cars for the 2007 model year. Two special edition cars were introduced for ‘07. 500 Z4Z Indy 500 Pace Car replicas and 399 Z33 Ron Fellows Z06 Special Edition cars were available for $66,995 and $77,500 respectively.

RPO F55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control continued to be available, and was sweetened for the 2007 model year with larger, cross-drilled brake rotors. These rotors improved the braking of the base Corvette while still maintaining the road-friendly suspension. In previous models, the only way to upgrade Corvette brakes was by optioning for RPO Z51, which had a much harsher ride than standard suspension packages.

In the leadup to the U.S. recession, the 2007 Corvette was the best-selling C6, and was praised by journalists as being more comfortable and as high performance as many European competitors. The long list of options allowed each Corvette buyer to buy a made-to-measure car which suited his particular needs. The 6-speed manual soldiered on as the standard transmission, but over half of the Corvettes sold in ‘07 were equipped with the automatic gearbox.
