2000-2004 Corvettes featured a plastic gear housing that requires the side case cover to the pried from the housing for installation. Once the side cover is removed, this joint is difficult to remain sealed due to the high pressure load on the cover. This headlight motor gear rebuild kit includes a specially designed t-brace and plastic bushing designed to apply pressure to the side cover to eliminate glue joint failures while adding a new bearing surface to support the shaft which significantly reduces the load on the cover. The result is a rebuilt headlight motor that will outlast the factory design for years to come!

2000-2004 Corvette headlight motor rebuild kits include the special washers GM recommends (TSB Number: 00-08-42-002) to shim the headlight motor allowing for the arm to hit the bumper better. These shims are only used on driver's side headlight motor.

Note: 1997-2004 C5 Corvette came with 2 variations of the headlight motor assembly. 1997-1999 Corvettes headlight motors featured an all aluminum housing that utilized (3) machine screws for removing the side cover. The early design are heavy duty and only require a new gear and bumper for rebuild. 2000-2004 Corvettes headlight motors feature a plastic gear case connected to a steel motor. The side cover is glued in place. The later design requires the gear change and specially designed brace for an adequate repair.
