Upgrade your C5 Corvette's driveline with a stronger AND lighter carbon fiber driveshaft from Zip Corvette. This driveshaft fits all 2001-2004 C5 Corvettes with manual transmissions. Unlike the factory aluminum driveshaft you will not have to worry about vibration issues caused by bent driveshafts or all out failures. The stock aluminum shaft can also "whip" at high RPM's which eventually leads to a bent or broken driveshaft.
Upgrading to a Carbon driveshaft will eliminate these possibilities as it does not change shape at high RPM's. In the event that a driveline failure does cause the driveshaft to fail, a carbon shaft will "broom" which will just polish the inside of the torque tube instead of causing a complete failure. If you are involved in any type of racing this is a must, street cars will also see an increase in acceleration by the reduction of rotating weight.
1997-2000 Corvettes can upgrade to a carbon fiber driveshaft by also upgrading the factory 10mm torque tube to the later 12mm design.

Installation difficulty: 5
Our technicians have determined that the installation difficulty level of this item is a 5 on a scale of 1-5. Read more about our install ratings here.
Almost no effort. Either snap on or plug and play. Probably no tools involved.
Simple installation with common tools. Probably less than 20 minutes for installation. Easy enough for
anyone who can read and follow instructions. A good first project for someone with no experience. Hard
to mess up.
A little mechanical experience is helpful but not necessary. Possibly a good first project for those with
a little more confidence. Will probably take more time (20-60 minutes) than #2.
Mechanical experience a definite plus. Not a good first project for the inexperienced. Most likely a 2-3
hour job minimum.
Only for the experienced wrench. Most likely requires good tool collection, possibly special tools and
a fair amount of experience. 95% of people will choose to have this installed by Zip or a professional.
