A common problem with 2005 Corvettes is a faulty ignition switch and steering column lock. The issue is often attributed to a lack of clearance between the column lock module and the steering column lock plate, but the result is that your C6 Corvette's steering column will lock up at the most inopportune times. Such as sitting in the parking lot of your favorite restaurant on a date night or in lane 4 of the gas station for a quick fill-up. When it happens, there is no fix. Your column is locked, and you're going to be late.
