1982 Corvette Parts
The 1982 Corvette marked the end of an era. The C3 Corvette was produced on a massive scale, and to celebrate the success of the C3, Chevrolet offered a “Collector’s Edition” car for the 1982 model year. The Collector’s Edition sold for $22,537.59, and was painted a special “silver-beige” color. It was outfitted with a special hood, and its aluminum wheels were inspired by the knock-off wheels installed on some C2 Corvettes.
Also unique to the 1982 Collector’s Edition was the hatchback style rear window. The hatchback design offered direct access to the rear storage compartment. On other C3 models, the rear storage area could only be accessed from inside the driver’s compartment. The Collector’s Edition was an unlimited production model, and 6,759 cars were ordered in this configuration.
The ‘82 Corvette was only available with one engine/transmission option. The CrossFire Fuel Injection 350ci produced 200 horsepower, and was mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. The base Corvette was available for $18, 290.07, and 18,648 cars were produced. Nearly all cars were sold with cruise control, but 1,094 cars did sell without it. Total production for 1982 was 25,407.
