Now available for your 1963 Corvette - correct looking replacement master cylinders that are much closer to original than the replacement master cylinders that have been available for years. These new reproduction 1963 Corvette master cylinders are brand new units, correct in every way EXCEPT they do not include the GM Part # 5463285, casting # 5462389 and bleeder valves. Original 7/8" bore - they include factory style reservoir cap with the proper Hex screw. Hex screws master cylinders were designed for 1963 Corvettes with power brakes.
Note: These master cylinders are perfect for the Corvette enthusiast who is searching for a correct looking master cylinder but does not require the factory markings for judging purposes. Replacement master cylinders do not include bleeder valves.See Zip # DB-884 for a 100% correct 1963 Corvette power brake master cylinder.
Note: Zip does not recommend using Dot 5 brake fluid. Dot 5 silicone brake fluid will void the warranty (1-year warranty) as changes in chemistry involved in production of silicone brake fluid may have adverse effects on the rubber components including piston seals and o-rings.
Installation difficulty: 3
Our technicians have determined that the installation difficulty level of this item is a 3 on a scale of 1-5. Read more about our install ratings here.
Almost no effort. Either snap on or plug and play. Probably no tools involved.
Simple installation with common tools. Probably less than 20 minutes for installation. Easy enough for
anyone who can read and follow instructions. A good first project for someone with no experience. Hard
to mess up.
A little mechanical experience is helpful but not necessary. Possibly a good first project for those with
a little more confidence. Will probably take more time (20-60 minutes) than #2.
Mechanical experience a definite plus. Not a good first project for the inexperienced. Most likely a 2-3
hour job minimum.
Only for the experienced wrench. Most likely requires good tool collection, possibly special tools and
a fair amount of experience. 95% of people will choose to have this installed by Zip or a professional.
