New reproduction 1968-1982 Corvette 41 tooth speedometer driven yellow gear. Speedometer driven gear mounts inside automatic transmission. Gears vary upon transmission, differential ratio and tire size. Verify original gear by # of teeth and color of gear. Gears are often found broken and unable to properly drive the speedometer cable OR need to be replaced to provide more accurate speedometer readings due to changes in tire size or differential ratio.
Note: If your speedometer reads FAST - then install a gear with more teeth; if your speedometer reads SLOW - then install a gear with less teeth. One tooth change will affect the speedometer reading by approximately 1 1/2 mph. When changing speedometer driven gears, the proper gear sleeve must also be used.
