84-85 Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel For ZF 6-Speed Conversion
Fidanza Aluminum Flywheels are manufactured from the highest quality 6061 T6 aluminum. The material is fantastic for strength, heat dissipation and of course reduction in weight. The friction surface used is an incredibly strong 1045 steel. The flywheel friction plates are milled to meet high specifications. Fidanza aluminum flywheels can mate with any type of clutch material, including organic, kevlar, ceramic, metallic and sintered iron. Fidanza attaches the replaceable friction surface with military grade aerospace fasteners. With these replaceable friction plates there is no need to replace the entire flywheel when the clutch or flywheel is at the end of it's life, saving time and money. The ring gears used are made from 1050 steel, heat treated for durability, pressed on and secured with grade 8 button screws. Fidanza was the first to utilize a stepped dowel system in most of their flywheel applications. This doweling method ensures that once the pressure plate is installed the dowels cannot be removed because they become locked into place. No manufacturer can compete with the awesome serviceability, strength and superior design of Fidanza's aluminum flywheels.

Fidanza
Ever heard of Lou Fidanza? Well in the seventies and eighties, he won eleven straight SCCA national championships, and in 1980 beat Paul Newman’s Nissan 280ZX. Get this. Newman’s car was backed by the factory. Fidanza’s Jaguar had no such support. Lou figured things out on his own, and along the way, learned how to make aluminum flywheels. Today, Fidanza Performance offers aluminum flywheels for cars from every product line, and even though Lou no longer leads the company, Fidanza carries on his legacy. One of our sales representatives would be more than happy to explain to you the benefits of using a Fidanza flywheel instead of the OE steel flywheel.
