The Manifold Air Temperature Sensor or Intake Air Temperature sensor provides the ECM with incoming air or fuel/air mixture temperature. The variable resistance sensor is also referred to as a charge temperature sensor, air charge temperature sensor or air thermo sensor. Includes "rectangular" style Packard plug used on 1985-1991 L98 Corvettes(see note below) and 1990-1995 LT5 Corvettes.
Note: There were 2 designs of Manifold Temperature Sensors used in 1985-1996 Corvettes. The sensor is the same, however the Packard style connector changed over the period of production. The ?rectangular? shaped (gray) connector was used in 1985-1986 and the ?mushroom? shaped (black) connector was used in 1986-1991 Corvettes. Please confirm connector style prior to ordering.

Installation difficulty: 2
Our technicians have determined that the installation difficulty level of this item is a 2 on a scale of 1-5. Read more about our install ratings here.
Almost no effort. Either snap on or plug and play. Probably no tools involved.
Simple installation with common tools. Probably less than 20 minutes for installation. Easy enough for
anyone who can read and follow instructions. A good first project for someone with no experience. Hard
to mess up.
A little mechanical experience is helpful but not necessary. Possibly a good first project for those with
a little more confidence. Will probably take more time (20-60 minutes) than #2.
Mechanical experience a definite plus. Not a good first project for the inexperienced. Most likely a 2-3
hour job minimum.
Only for the experienced wrench. Most likely requires good tool collection, possibly special tools and
a fair amount of experience. 95% of people will choose to have this installed by Zip or a professional.
