2014 Corvette Parts

The C7 Corvette was first unveiled to the public on January 14, 2013. Production began for the 2014 model year in the summer of 2013, and the car was in showrooms by September. This much anticipated Corvette incorporated so much modern technology, that it used two 8-inch LCD computer screens to communicate vehicle information to the driver. The C7 introduced many new standard features to the base Corvette, including an all-aluminum frame, which weighed 100 pounds less while providing 50% more rigidity. Also standard on the C7 was a removable carbon fiber roof panel.

The C7 was designed in a wind tunnel with the goal of much better aerodynamics than the previous generation C6. Electronic power steering and a 7-speed manual transmission helped improve fuel economy, but the cylinder deactivation technology found in the all-new LT1, helped the C7 achieve an EPA estimated 29 mpg on the highway.

The new LT1 displaced 6.2L and generated 455 hp from a traditional pushrod engine. The engine incorporated technologies like continuously variable valve timing and direct fuel injection. This precise engine was built in the USA at the factory in Tonawanda, New York, before being shipped to the Bowling Green plant for installation.

The C7 Stingray was available in coupe and convertible versions, with the Z51 performance trim optional on both. The base coupe retailed for $51,995, and its topless counterpart sold for $5,000 more. Total production for the 2014 model year was 37,288, nearly three times 2013 production.
