The EPAS electric conversion gives you full control over your Corvette's steering. The system includes 60amp motor designed to be installed into your C3 Corvette's steering column (must cut factory column). The electric motor mounts under the dash, which maintains the original look of your mid-year Corvette's engine compartment. The EPAS kit includes a prewired control module with GPS adjustable potentiometer. One of the many advantages of an electric steering system is the variable control depending on vehicle speed. More steering assist at low speed, less assist at high speed!
Newly released EPAS Performance GPS Automatic Adjustment controller is an upgrade replacing the manually adjustable potentiometer EPAS electric power steering systems originally came with. Now there is no need for an adjustment knob on the controller as the GPS antenna modifies the level of steering assistance according to your Corvette's speed. Drivers will experience the maximum level of steering assistance while their Corvette is at rest, and the minimum level of steering assistance at high speeds. If for any reason the GPS loses its satellite connection, for example driving through a parking garage or tunnel, the system will keep the last known speed of the vehicle until the signal has been restored. Installing the GPS antenna on your windshield will provide the quickest signal connection, while installing it under the dash will only take the system a few seconds more to get an accurate GPS signal.
EPAS electric steering conversion includes all mounting hardware plus instructions and video help. Requires removal and cutting of original steering column. Approximately 12 hours for installation.
