When Peter Mercado noticed that the door handles on his C4 Corvette were falling victim to fading, scratches, and chips, he began looking for a solution without the expense of purchasing new handles, which would fade in time as well. He found it in the form of a new prototype polymer, which is resistant to heat, cold, moisture, salt, most chemicals, and minor impacts.
