The lower rubber shift boot seals the transmission to the floor console and keeps unwanted heat and exhaust fumes from radiating into the passenger compartment. Often times, the shift boot is ripped due to both time and excessive heat - which then generates an even hotter or uncomfortable passenger area. New lower shift boots are easy to replace and will restore your C4 Corvette to its original condition.
