Corvettes are famous for having a series of "spider" cracks on the fiberglass or factory urethane front nose or bumper cover. These cracks are often caused by the slight bumping of the back end of another car or wall of the garage. Lets face it - finding the front end of your Corvette can be a little difficult when driving - depending on your height, seeing over those fenders can be quite difficult.
To solve the problem AND protect your Corvette's front bumper and/or paint - the front bumper protector is a heavy piece of urethane designed to mount to the factory front license plate holder. The urethane will extrude beyond the front bumper cover just enough to protect your bumper and paint in the case of a slight front-end collision.
Note: 1973-1974 Corvettes will require the use of the factory style front license bracket for installation. Can not be used on 1980-1982 Corvettes.
Installation difficulty: 2
Our technicians have determined that the installation difficulty level of this item is a 2 on a scale of 1-5. Read more about our install ratings here.
Almost no effort. Either snap on or plug and play. Probably no tools involved.
Simple installation with common tools. Probably less than 20 minutes for installation. Easy enough for
anyone who can read and follow instructions. A good first project for someone with no experience. Hard
to mess up.
A little mechanical experience is helpful but not necessary. Possibly a good first project for those with
a little more confidence. Will probably take more time (20-60 minutes) than #2.
Mechanical experience a definite plus. Not a good first project for the inexperienced. Most likely a 2-3
hour job minimum.
Only for the experienced wrench. Most likely requires good tool collection, possibly special tools and
a fair amount of experience. 95% of people will choose to have this installed by Zip or a professional.
