This Corvette steering column upper lock plate removal tool saves your knuckles. Installation of a turn signal switch in a standard 1969-1979 Corvette steering column can be tough. This tool pushes down on the lock plate, enabling the snap ring clip to be removed with ease. You can also use this tool on C3 Corvettes equipped with telescopic steering columns. Just insert a set screw to lock the column back down after you remove the locking bolt.
