Dewitts Radiator Coolant$35.99
This C1 Corvette radiator and electric fan combo package includes our 1955-1960 "Direct Fit" Corvette aluminum radiator with a full face aluminum shroud and a Spal 16" electric fan. Incorporated into the shroud is six (6) rubber check valves which open at high speed. The "low profile" design features a smaller fan motor that allows for clearance of the factory sway bar. This fan provides 1610 cfm @ 11 amps. The kit includes one SP195FH wire harness. Made in USA.
Direct Fit radiators are completely manufactured and assembled right here in the United States. Along with that comes the quality that you would expect from a company that takes pride in turning out Corvette radiators. Each Direct Fit Corvette radiator begins life as an aluminum core with two 1" wide cooling tubes. This configuration more than doubles the cooling capacity by increasing the "tube to fin" contact area. This can only be achieved with an aluminum radiator since the aluminum material does not dramatically affect the radiators weight. Tanks are press formed and inlet/outlets are correctly configured for a drop-in installation. Each core is then brazed in a controlled atmosphere furnace; which eliminates the need for epoxy, ensuring leak free, trouble free service for many years to come.
Are two rows really better than three or four? In the era of copper and brass radiators, more rows meant better cooling due to increased surface area. However, with aluminum radiators, the game has changed. Engineers found that reducing fin height and using wider tubes increased tube-to-fin contact, enhancing performance while cutting weight. The U.S. standard for performance aluminum radiators is 1" wide tubes, while imported radiators often use smaller 16mm tubes. This means a 2-row aluminum radiator with 1" tubes offers better cooling than a 3-row imported design. When researching, focus on tube width for a clearer picture of efficiency and origin.
Direct Fit radiators are available in your choice of natural or black ice coated. Black Ice is an OE-style epoxy finish designed to turn an aluminum radiator into a factory look-alike without affecting cooling performance. Specify radiator finish when ordering. Additional costs will be incurred for black ice coated.
Auxiliary fan kits are designed to turn on at 195F based on the output of the temperature sensor. Some aftermarket air condition systems prefer the fans to be turned on when the air condition system is engaged. Forcing the fans to turn on in an effort to keep the air condition system functioning at its highest level. For air condition equipped Corvettes, if the desire is to turn the fans on when the air condition is engaged, an additional SPAL relay wiring harness kit must be purchased. See Zip # RA-351 to complete the installation for an air condition engaged dual fan system.
Dewitts Direct Fit aluminum radiators are warrantied to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as long as you own the Corvette in which it was originally installed. This warranty is extended only to the first retail purchaser of any such radiator. Proof of purchase must be provided from an authorized dealer. If the radiator is used in any racing application this warranty is considered null and void. Radiators used without an adequate proportion of premium quality antifreeze coolant and distilled water are not covered by this warranty. DRI radiators require a correct proportion of quality coolant, which contains aluminum corrosion inhibitors in the formula and distilled water. All Corvette cooling systems must include a radiator pressure cap with the proper pressure rating. Distilled water and premium antifreeze must be used with all Corvette aluminum radiators!
