The Shark Bite rear coil over suspension kit will make your Corvette have truly independent suspension that is not found with the monoleaf set up. A true bolt-on design, it does not require any permanent modification to the vehicle. This race inspired rocker arm suspension includes life-long Viking aluminum shocks that are completely rebuildable. Different shock valving is available, including single-adjustable and independently double-adjustable. The kits offer adjustable ride height while on the vehicle and are lighter weight than the stock rear suspension. Kits include clear installation instructions and all of the mounting hardware necessary.
This Shark Bite rear coil over kit includes the upgraded Shark Bite differential cover for 1963-1979 Corvettes. For installation on 1978-1979 Corvettes, the Shark Bite differential cover is a required component designed to handle the stresses of the independent suspension. Factory 1978-1979 differential covers do not have the strength to handle the independent suspension.
Soft springs rates are equivalent to 200 in / lb springs, Medium springs rates are equivalent to 300 in / lb springs, Hard springs rates are equivalent to 400 in / lb springs. Specify spring rate when ordering.
Note: This Shark Bite system is designed for stock trailing arms and/or "single" offset trailing arms for increased wheel size. When installing on offset trailing arms, a separate bracket (Zip # SU-1590) must be welded to the offset trailing arm to provide a mounting location for the rear coil-over. Shark Bite rear coil-overs can NOT be installed on "double" offset trailing arms. These arms have the spring mounting bolt moved 1" on the rear of the arm and require the use of a shortened rear spring. "Double" offset arms are not compatible with the mounting points for the Shark Bite rear suspension. Zip # SU-1590 Offset trailing arm brackets must be purchased separately.
